Personalized care delivered in the comfort and familiarity of home — built around the person, not a checklist.

In-Home Support is professional, personalized care delivered directly in your home. Instead of asking someone to adapt to a facility or a fixed schedule, our team builds support around each person's own routines, goals, and comfort.
Support is available around the clock, so care doesn't stop when the schedule gets unpredictable.
Every plan starts with a conversation about what matters to the individual and their family — not a standard template.
Support is delivered by trained caregivers who bring consistency and familiarity to every visit.
From who it's for, to what a DSP actually does, to how you begin.
Individuals with developmental disabilities who want to stay safely and comfortably at home — from occasional check-ins to daily assistance. Families and Support Coordinators are welcome to reach out and talk through fit.
A Direct Support Professional helps with daily living activities, safety and supervision, everyday life skills, and companionship — shaped by the individual's own care plan, not a fixed routine.
Reach out by phone or through our contact form. We'll talk with you about your needs and how In-Home Support could help, then build a care plan together.
Virginia describes In-Home Support as a service delivered in the individual's own home or in community settings, combining hands-on assistance with skill-building. That framing matters: the goal is not simply to do things for someone, but to help them do more themselves, in the places they actually live.
Every arrangement is built from the individual's own Individual Support Plan and from a conversation with the person and the people closest to them. We ask what already works, what a difficult day looks like, and which goals matter most right now. Community participation is part of that — getting to appointments, activities, work, or simply out of the house is often where independence is actually built.
Families are part of the arrangement rather than an audience for it. We agree how often you want to hear from us, and we revisit whether the plan still fits as circumstances change, because they do.
Nothing begins without an introduction. We arrange a first meeting at a time that suits the household, go through the Individual Support Plan together, and agree what the first few weeks should look like.
We then confirm the schedule, agree how you want to be kept informed, and set a start date. If at any stage we conclude that we cannot cover the hours consistently, we say so rather than beginning something we cannot sustain. The full pathway, including what to send us, is on our referrals page.
CoreCare provides In-Home Support in Williamsburg, Virginia and the surrounding community.
Yes — In-Home Support is available 24/7, including evenings and weekends.
Every visit is built around the individual's own care plan — it may include help with daily activities, safety supervision, skill-building, or simply companionship, depending on what's needed that day.
Virginia regulation covers In-Home Support under two of the three DD Waivers: Family and Individual Supports (FIS) and Community Living (CL). Building Independence (BI) is structured differently. Whether a particular person's plan funds this service still depends on their own waiver assignment and Individual Support Plan, which their Support Coordinator can confirm — CoreCare does not determine eligibility. Our guide to Virginia's DD Waivers explains how the three differ and links to the official DBHDS and DMAS resources.
